Visit StarTrek.com To Participate in the Online Survey

In anticipation of the 40th Anniversary of the original Star Trek in 2006, Paramount Home Entertainment is considering releasing four DVD box sets that may potentially contain episodes from any of the five live-action Star Trek series.  Now for the first time, fans can help chart the course for future "Fan Collective Edition" DVD box sets with an online survey that went live today at StarTrek.com.

In the survey, fans will get to rank their favorite among four sets including:  Klingon, Borg, Time Travel and Q.   For each box set, they will also have a chance to select up to five episodes that they believe is most representative for each category or on of the overlooked episodes.  In addition, visitors can suggest other Star Trek “Fan Collective” DVD box sets and episodes they would like to see in the future.

April 5, 2005 - Here is a DVD review of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Home Entertainment's "Hotel Rwanda."

April 4, 2005 - George Lucas definitely made a bundle of cash from me this weekend. With the Saturday, April 2, 2005 street date for a ton of merchandise tie-ins,  I went out and purchased the two DK books as well as "The Art Of Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith" and the beautiful coffee table book "The Cinema Of George Lucas" and my shopping spree did not end there. I also purchased the graphic novel for the upcoming final Star Wars film and the voice changing Darth Vader helmet too, which I put on top of my bookcase in my office. I wanted to get the light saber with the bonus DVD inside it too, but the toy store in my area did not receive them so instead I dropped another fifty bucks on the "Trivial Pursuit: Star Wars Saga Edition" game, which features two DVDs with scenes from all six films. I have not had the chance to check out the discs yet, but I am looking forward to playing the game and there is still one or two more items being released this May that I want to buy too. In particular the soundtrack CD, which will include a bonus DVD inside it is on my wish list. Collectively I think I spent over two hundred dollars this weekend on Star Wars merchandise and while I did have a bit of buyer's guilt afterwards, it dissipated quickly after some friends stopped by and were amused by all the cool stuff. In particular the Darth Vader voice changing helmet is pretty cool. Star Wars merchandise is available at retailers on and offline now, including Amazon.com. "Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith" will open in North American theaters on Thursday, May 19, 2005.

In between my spells of "Star Wars" fever I did manage to get a new DVD review done for today's update and I have more coming too so here is my DVD review of Warner Home Video's "The Exorcist: The Beginning: Widescreen Edition."

April 1, 2005 - Here is a DVD review of Walt Disney Home Entertainment's and Pixar Studio's "The Incredibles: 2-Disc Collector's Edition: Widescreen." I have also moved my "On The Mark Updates For March, 2005" to the Archived On The Mark Page. Elite Entertainment has announced the highly anticipated DVD release of the horror film "Marronnier."
