December 20, 2002 - Here is a DVD review of Warner Home Video's "Ballistic: Ecks Vs. Sever."
December 19, 2002 - Yesterday I attended the first showing of Peter Jackson's "The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers" in my area and I have to tell you all that if you liked the first film, you will love the second film. It is so good that I find it difficult to get back into the swing of things and review other movies. One can sense when watching "The Two Towers" that a few scenes were deleted to keep up the pacing and as a result there might be a moment or two when viewers unfamiliar with the story will scratch their heads and wonder what happened, but I guess that is what the Extended Version of "The Two Towers" will be for when the DVD hits retailers on and offline late next year. Regardless, do not miss seeing this movie at least once on the big screen. Anyway, here are DVD reviews of Warner Home Video's "The Adventures Of Pluto Nash" and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment's "The King Of Comedy."
December 18, 2002 - Here are DVD reviews of Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment's "Heavy Metal 2000: Superbit" and "Resident Evil: Superbit."
December 17, 2002 - Here are DVD reviews of Paramount Home Entertainment's "The Emperor's New Clothes" and "War And Peace."
December 16, 2002 - Here is a DVD review and film analysis of DreamWorks Home Entertainment's "Minority Report: Widescreen."
December 15, 2002 - Here is a review of the second season premiere of the hit USA Network Original Series "The Dead Zone: Valley Of Shadow," starring Anthony Michael Hall, which will premiere on Sunday, January 5, 2003, at 10PM (ET/PT).
December 14, 2002 - Last night was the finale of the Sci-Fi Channel's epic miniseries "Steven Spielberg Presents Taken" and if you have missed any of it, then check your local listings for encore presentations this weekend. It is well worth a look and should make a great DVD when DreamWorks releases it next year. The street date is still to be announced. "Tremors: The Series" got moved to March. The delivery of the special effects was just taking longer than anyone had anticipated. So Sci-Fi has opted to not cut any corners to rush it on air for January. It will now air in March, which is also the month when the upcoming Sci-Fi miniseries event "Frank Herbert's Children of Dune" will premiere. I caught "Star Trek: Nemesis" and while I liked it better than some of the local newpaper reviews I've read, I think the feature will play better on DVD. There are flaws in the story, but what I think hurt the film the most was the pacing. It can get pretty dull sometimes. I expect the DVD experience will be better and hope they include the deleted scenes I have read about over the past few months. Look for new reviews tomorrow and enjoy the day!
December 13, 2002 - Here is a DVD review of Universal Home Entertainment's "Back To The Future: The Complete Trilogy: Widescreen."
December 10, 2002 - Here is a DVD review of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Home Entertainment's "The Thief Of Bagdad."
December 9, 2002 - Here is a DVD review of Dimension Home Entertainment's "Halloween: Resurrection."
December 7, 2002 - Here is a review of Paramount Home Entertainment's "Star Trek: The Next Generation: The Complete Sixth Season On DVD Box Set."
December 6, 2002 - Here is a review of Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment's "Malcolm In The Middle: The Complete First Season On DVD Box Set."
December 5, 2002 - Here is a DVD review of Lions Gate Home Entertainment's "The Dead Zone: The Series Pilot: Wheel Of Fortune." Big thanks to ADV Films for quoting from my reviews of their "Farscape" DVD titles on their recently released "Farscape 2.4" DVD set. You can also read my review quotes on Columbia TriStar's "Superbit" and "Superbit Deluxe" DVD releases in stores now.
December 4, 2002 - Here are DVD reviews of Artisan Home Entertainment's "Dog Soldiers" and "Robin Cook's Invasion." As an aside, I have been watching Sci-Fi and DreamWork's television miniseries presentation of "Steven Spielberg Presents Taken" and so far I am enjoying it. If you have not tuned in yet, give it a look. There are encore presentations that follow each night's premiere as well as an additional repeat presentation preceding each new installment at 7pm so there are plenty of chances to watch it or set your recording equipment to save it and watch it later if you can't view it in progress. It should also be a great DVD set in 2003. Watch for the teaser trailer of Sci-Fi's "Frank Herbert's Children Of Dune" during the commercial breaks as well as a preview of other new and returning Sci-Fi original series beginning Friday, January 10, 2003 with "Farscape: Season 4" at 8pm, "Stargate: SG-1: Season 6" at 9pm, and the premiere of "Tremors: The Series" at 10pm. "Frank Herbert's Children Of Dune" will premiere on Sci-Fi in March of 2003. For additional information, visit www.scifi.com.
