February 22, 2005 - Here is a DVD set review of Comedy Central Home Video's and Paramount Home Entertainment's "South Park: The Complete Fifth Season." On a sad note, maverick gonzo Journalist Hunter S. Thompson died at the age of 67. His death is being attributed to suicide, which I find quite shocking because he seemed to me like he was a man that really enjoyed pushing the boundaries of his life. His books include "Hell's Angels", "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas", "Fear and Loathing: On the Campaign Trail '72", and "The Great Shark Hunt." In 1998 Universal Pictures released a feature film version of "Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas," which starred Johnny Depp as Thompson aka "Raoul Duke." The film was directed by Terry Gilliam and is available on DVD-Video in an excellent two-disc set courtesy of Home Vision Entertainment's Criterion Collection of films on DVD. It is one of my favorite films. You can read my DVD review of it by clicking here. He will be sorely missed.
