Archived On The Mark Updates - April, 2006
April 20, 2006 - Here is a DVD review of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's "Godzilla: Monster Edition." The first HD DVD hardware software was released at retailers on and offline and I wish everyone good luck with buying whatever they want to their heart's content. It might be harder to find HD DVD players than one might imagine. A major retail chain is carrying players in stock at stores, but their online business is already backordered and is not at the time of this writing, accepting any more online orders whether it is to have the player delivered or to pick it up personally at a retail outlet. I hope this does not become a situation like the XBox 360 where consumers had to wait until April in some cases for orders they made in November. That would really and truly suck. Finally I do not really review music CDs outside of film and or television soundtracks given the nature of the website, but I was given a CD entitled "Free Now" by a band named Rtam and if you are into spiritual music with an Eastern centric focus, you might want to check this CD out by visiting www.rtammusic.com.
April 17, 2006 - Here is a TV review of the upcoming Turner Classics Movies documentary, "Stardust: The Bette Davis Story", which will premiere on Wednesday, May 3, 2006, at 8pm (ET).
April 15, 2006 - Here is a DVD box set review of Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment's "Planet Of The Apes: The Legacy Collection." If all goes well, next week we will have the first HD DVD players and software available for purchase and a new format to review. Have a great weekend and for those who celebrate it, a Happy Easter! Thank you.
April 12, 2006 - Here is a DVD review of Universal Studios Home Entertainment's "King Kong: 2-Disc Special Edition." In an attempt to make page downloads faster for users as well as finding an easier method for archiving DVD reviews, I have created three new sections devoted to the DVD reviews of the respective release year product. Buttons above and below will appear on each menu page for easy access. When visiting these pages, please remember to press the back arrow button on your browser after reading a review to return to the previous page otherwise you will automatically end up on the main page. I hope this will make download times faster for dialup users and provide easy visual access for all. Thank you. Finally, Ken Foree will be on hand at a special New York City screening of Rob Zombie's horror dualogy, "House Of 1000 Corpses" and "The Devil's Rejects." The screenings will be followed by a discussion with Mr. Foree. You can read all about it below.
