This is not a DVD review of Koch Visions' "High Times Presents The Cannabis Cup: World Champions Of Marijuana," which is now available on DVD at retailers on and offline. The feature length documentary of shorts is actually entertaining and educational, covering the history of "The Cannabis Cup" from its initial founding in 1988 by High Times' Editor-In-Chief Steven Hager. He modeled it after the harvest festivals held in California in the 1970s, where growers would bring their finest buds and a winner would be judged. Held every November in Amsterdam, The Cannabis Cup is now a huge festival event, with flocks of connoisseurs arriving from around the world to sample "the kind". The 102 minute program combines documentary footage of the festivals, concerts, and ceremonies with hilarious TV show parodies such as "High Witness News," "The Grow Show," and "The Cannabis Castaways. The DVD also features "Meet The Founder Featurette," concert performances, and 5.1 Surround Sound.
