This upcoming TBS Superstation original film is essentially a “Die-Hard” in a shopping mall type action thriller, except instead of cardboard heroes and villains we get Eric Roberts, who is able to communicate more through his body language and his cool demeanor to give a lot more dimension to his action archetype villain than is seen in most big screen genre counterparts. Dean Cain cannot shirk his wholesome “Superman” persona, but he is able to deliver a degree of sincerity to his character that I do not think would be believable from another actor without coming off too saccharine.

The film has a slick look to it and is essentially a popcorn TV film for the holiday season. “Christmas Rush” will debut on Sunday, December 1, 2002, at 8pm (ET)/ 7pm (CT/PT) on the TBS Superstation with encores as follows:
