Artisan
Home Entertainment has released two soft core erotica titles from the Kushner
Locke library sold separately for the low suggested retail price of $14.98 each.
These films look like the kind of nightcap viewing some premium cable networks
run late on a Saturday night. They feature flat dialogue and big breasts and are
meant to titillate without showing any actual penetration. Both films were
directed my Jackie Garth and seem like they were a part of some bigger series.
The storylines involving virtual reality sex are pretty much throwaway plots to
show some erotic fantasies and tease the male viewers with buxom naked beauties.
If
virtual reality were so real as these films make it out to be, would anybody
bother watching these movies? The cast from one film seems so generic that I was
surprised the second film had a different set of actors and actresses. Both
films are presented in their (1.33:1) aspect ratio with English Dolby Surround
Sound and optional English Closed Captions for the hearing impaired. The picture
quality on “Cyberella: Forbidden Passions” is mediocre at best with frequent
anomalies and an image quality that looks a few shades too dark. “Dream
Master: The Erotic Invader” has a better picture quality that is brighter,
appears more solid, and shows no compression anomalies. The Dolby Surround
Soundtracks for both films are quite good with a nice audio level and digital
quality clarity. No analogue hissing or crackling could be heard in the
background at all on either release.
Since these films are close enough to be companions, Artisan should have issued them as a double feature. I think the value would have been better then, but if you like to be teased or are looking for something to spice up your private life with your significant other, I suppose “Cyberella: Forbidden Passions” and “Dream Master: The Erotic Invader” might be for both of you. They are available on DVD-Video now sold separately from Artisan Home Entertainment.
