Whether or not you are a huge Clint Eastwood fan, there is no denying that the multitalented and Oscar® winning filmmaker is truly a renaissance man. For a person of few words, Eastwood’s accomplishments are nothing short of outstanding. An admirer of Jazz, this surprise tribute honoring the American music art form, which Eastwood has contributed to in his own way through cinema and as a musician is a soothing melodic journey through Eastwood’s career as it relates to Jazz.

The concert was recorded from a live event held in Carnegie Hall back in 1996 and features an extensive menu of performers singing songs that have been used throughout Eastwood’s feature film career and intercut with scenes from those films as well as brief excerpts from a videotaped interview with Eastwood discussing the various pieces in relation to his career and his experiences. Eastwood even plays the piano at the end an impressive selection of Jazz artists.

Warner Home Video presents “Eastwood After Hours: Live At Carnegie Hall” in a beautiful videotaped (1.33:1) transfer complete with a great English Dolby Surround Soundtrack. English Captions and Closed Captions and French, Spanish, and Portuguese Language Subtitles are encoded on to the DVD as options.

There is a ten-minute behind-the-scenes featurette with various Jazz artist interviews, production notes and biographical information on the show’s director. The menus are standard interactive still frames that are easy to navigate.

A perfect companion for one’s Jazz on DVD collection in addition to the incredible library of Clint Eastwood films distributed by Warner Brothers, “Eastwood After Hours: Live At Carnegie Hall” is available on DVD-Video now at retailers on and offline from Warner Home Video.
