Get ready to catch junglemania with George of the Jungle, star of the original TV series that premiered
in 1967, now re-imagined for today’s kids.
Forty-one years after the original George
of the Jungle, from creative genius Jay Ward, join George as he protects the
jungle of Mbebwe—a wild playground packed with quirky creatures, creepy
villains and wacky wilderness adventures. George’s
jungle family includes his best buddy, an ape named Ape, friends Ursula and
Magnolia, his faithful dog Shep (actually an elephant) and the lovable
Tookie-Tookie bird. For these
friends, every day is a new adventure full of mishaps, mayhem and monkey
business where there’s always another tree to crash into.
I
was born a year after the original George Of The Jungle premiered so I
was never a fan because I just don’t recall tuning into it by the time I was
old enough to realize what a TV is. So I was not sure what to expect from this
new version for today’s kids. I am very happy to say that I loved it. The
manner in which the characters are drawn is adorable and the storylines are cute
and family friendly. I’d recommend this to adults even since there are many
who still smile at certain cartoons. I absolutely recommend this animated series
to anyone of any age. Heck when I was in high school people use to quote Pee
Wee’s Playhouse and Inspector Gadget. I think this is the type of
animated series that could crossover to adults who are home when their kids
watch TV the same way I know mothers who recognize Cartoon Network characters
and series the moment they see them. Think Foster’s Home For Imaginary
Friends. Who doesn’t love the character of Blue I tell you! You all will
love it.
