Juniper Lee is an all-American adolescent girl, who just happens to have the ability to interact between the world of humans and the world of magic and police them so the two never intrude upon each other. She is the latest in the line of “Te Xuan Ze” and while trying to juggle after school activities, homework, and a social life, she often must use her unique gifts to prevent creatures and monsters from disrupting the human world and of course keeping humans who would exploit the magical folk from creating havoc across both worlds.

The premise is sort of like a “Harry Potter” and “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” mixed in with an animation style that is somewhat reminiscent of Disney’s “Lilo & Stitch” animated series. The images are drawn with great bright colors that just burst from the TV screen and the characters are drawn just cute enough so that even the bad creatures are never too scary for kids. The animated action comedy was created by Judd Winick, who has created the comic strips “Nuts And Bolts” and “Frumpy The Clown” as well as worked on several DC Comics titles, including “Batman,” “Green Lantern,” and “Green Arrow.” Mr. Winick was also a member of the cast of MTV’s “The Real World – San Francisco” in 1994. The two episodes I screened should run at about approximately 30 minutes each with commercial interruption.

“The Life & Times Of Juniper Lee” will debut on Cartoon Network on Monday, May 30, 2005, at 7pm (ET/PT) before moving into its regular weekly timeslot of Sunday nights at 7:30pm (ET/PT) thereafter.
