As
seen on The Disney Channel and ABC Kids, “Kim Possible” is an adorable
animated teenage action fantasy series that the whole family can enjoy. Kim
Possible is a high school teenager and cheerleader, who also happens to be
responsible for saving the world many times over and still gets home in time for
dinner. Her sidekicks include Ron Stoppable and his pet naked mole rat Rufus and
her behind-the-scenes hacker ally Wade.
This
DVD features four episodes from the hit series including the series premiere
episode “Crush,” which is among the extra value features and a
never-before-seen episode entitled “Partners.” The other two episodes are
the popular installments “Attack Of The Killer Bebes” and “Downhill.”
Beginning with the premiere episode “Crush” Kim tries to overcome Draken’s
scheme to create a giant robot and her fear of asking her crush Josh Mankey, to
the big school dance. “Attack Of The Killer Bebes” has Kim Possible meet
Draken’s new robotic warrior women and discover a hidden secret between her
father and Draken. “Downhill” finds Kim enduring mutant beasts terrorizing
the sky resort where her class trip is staying while coping with her chaperone
parents at the same time. “Partners” is a never-before-seen story where
Draken feigns love for the villainous DNAmy in order to take advantage of
mutation skills. Soon Kim and Ron are out saving their town of Middleton from a
rampaging dinosaur.
“Attack
Of The Killer Bebes,” “Downhill,” and “Partners” are all presented in
(1.66:1) anamorphic widescreen aspect ratios with a full English Dolby Digital
5.1 Surround Soundtrack and optional English Captions and Closed Captions for
the hearing impaired while the series premiere episode “Crush” is presented
in the original (1.33:1) television broadcast aspect ratio with an English Dolby
Surround Soundtrack. The picture quality on all four episodes is outstanding and
the 5.1 as well as the Surround Soundtracks are quite clear and well mixed.
The
episodes are hosted by computer generated 3-D Rufus and the “Kimmunicator”
and the animation is quite cute and very well rendered and also serves as the
navigation tool through the various episodes. The subsequent interactive menus
are all easy to navigate too. In addition to the series premiere episode, other
extra features include “Kim’s Most Wanted Wacko Bad Guys Game,” where the
player choose three from the five character icons to find out the code to access
information of such Kim Possible villains as Dr. Draken, Shego, Gill, DNAmy,
Killer Bebes, Monkey Fist, Senors, Duff Killagan, and Jackie The Jackal.
If you can’t get the code just highlight and click on Rufus with your
remote and he’ll give you the code for each villain. The “Say The Word”
music video performed by the voice actress for Kim Possible herself Christy
Carlson Romano (2:43) is presented with full Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound as
well.
Bonus
promo trailers for “The Lion King: Platinum Edition,” “Brother Bear,”
“Sleeping Beauty: Special Edition,” “George Of The Jungle 2,” “Lizzie
Maguire,” “Access To The Fifth Grade,” “Toontown Online,” and a “Kim
Possible” TV Spot wrap up the extra features included on this DVD. “Kim
Possible: The Secret Files” is available on DVD-Video now at retailers on and
offline from Walt Disney Home Entertainment.
