Skeet Ulrich stars as an investigator
who works for the Catholic Church to determine the nature of supposed miracles
whether they are stigmata, weeping statues, or the dead preserved by mystical
sources. Disillusioned with the amount of phenomena he has determined due to
natural causes and not miracles, he takes a sabbatical, but is haunted by images
and signs. Called to investigate the validity of a young boy with the ability to
heal others, he is surprised to see that the boy is one that has appeared in the
dreams of the investigator and now his world will never be the same.
“Miracles” is a great show with
plenty of creepiness and intrigue to make the hair on the back of your neck
stand. The series is going to broadcast in high definition as well as
traditional analogue transmissions and this should be a treat for anyone with an
interest in the paranormal and especially for HDTV viewers who will be able to
enjoy the series in a full widescreen (1.78:1) aspect ratio. The look of this
series is much more like a moody theatrical feature than the average TV series
and the use of light and shadows as well as sound makes this an exciting show to
watch that presents many thought provoking questions regarding the nature of
faith and the unknown. The pilot was unlike anything I have ever seen on
television before.
“Miracles” will premiere on ABC on
Monday, January 27, 2002, at 10PM (ET/PT). Check it out.
