Leelee
Sobieski is almost unrecognizable as a 17-year-old alienated “Goth” chick
that finds a father figure and trustworthy friend in her mild mannered, but very
introverted boss, who employs her initially as a stock person and gradually
allows her to work in sales as he grows to trust and she trusts him. Directed by
actress Christine Lahti, “My First Mister” is a bittersweet drama.
Paramount
Home Entertainment presents “My First Mister” is an anamorphic widescreen
(2.35:1) aspect ratio with virtually no grain and blemishes and solid colors.
Overall this is a great transfer. An English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround
Soundtrack is well mixed, but somewhat subtle given the nature of the film. An
English Dolby Surround Soundtrack and optional English Captions and Closed
Captions are encoded on to the DVD. Director Christine Lahti provides an
articulate screen specific audio commentary track.
The
main menu features full motion scenes from the film while the subsequent menus
are standard interactive still frames that are easy to navigate. “My First
Mister” will debut on DVD-Video from Paramount Home Entertainment on Tuesday,
April 30, 2002.
