My
older brother actually went to see this concert of Simon and Garfunkel at
Central Park and even got himself and the girl he was with in a huge group photo
that was enclosed within the original vinyl release in the early 1980s. HBO
recorded the concert and aired it with a radio simulcast too. There are some
great songs that I have come to appreciate over the years even though I wasn’t
even born yet when these guys first started to play. The complete set includes:
Mrs.
Robinson
Homeward
Bound
America,
Me and Julio Down By The Schoolyard
Scarborough
Fair, April Comes She Will
Wake
Up Little Susie, Still Crazy After All These Years
American
Tune, Late In The Evening
Slip
Sliding Away
A
Heart In New York
Bridge
Over Troubled Water
50
Ways To Leave Your Lover
The
Boxer
Old
Friends/Bookends, Feelin’ Groovy
The
Sound Of Silence
Late
In The Evening
The
concert is presented in a clear videotaped (1.33:1) aspect ratio preserving the
original television broadcast presentation and a vibrant English Stereo
Soundtrack with English Captions an Closed Captions for the hearing impaired.
Bonus trailers for other Fox musical titles on DVD that include “Carmen
Jones,” “Carousel,” “Hello Dolly,” “The King And I,” “Moulin
Rouge,” “Oklahoma,” and “South Pacific.” The menus are standard
interactive still frames that are easy to navigate.
“Simon
And Garfunkel: The Concert In Central Park” is available on DVD-Video now from
