Kevin Sorbo reprises his role from Walking Tall: The Payback in this straight to-video sequel that has his character fighting to avenge the death of an FBI Agent and protect her 12-year-old daughter from a ruthless drug lord with connections in law enforcement. Now he must go beyond country justice to fight thugs on both sides of the law on the streets of Dallas. Kevin Sorbo has likeability to him so that even though the story is thin, you don’t mind watching him kick some ass. No one who rents or buys this DVD is expecting anything more than an entertaining action thriller. They are not expecting another Die Hard and in some ways this film is better than the remake that starred Duane Johnson a few years back. The filmmakers try to use mostly contemporary TV techniques like sudden close-ups and extreme color gels like the sickly green tone when he first enters a Dallas convenience store to suggest the lawlessness as a disease infecting Dallas and the world of the characters.

Presented in a 16 by 9 enhanced widescreen (1.78:1) aspect ratio, Walking Tall: Lone Justice has a gritty look, but otherwise is what one would expect for a straight to video action thriller. Well-rounded Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Soundtracks in English, Spanish, and Portuguese as well as a French Language Dolby Surround Soundtrack are encoded onto the DVD along with English Closed Captions for the Deaf and Hearing Impaired and English, French, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish Language Subtitles as options. There are no bonus features directly related to the film. Preview trailers for Bobby Z, Pumpkinhead 4, Rise: Blood Hunter, Walking Tall: The Payback, The Contractor, Hostel Part II, The Last Time, Wind Chill, and Seinfeld Season 9 are included on the disc, but can only be viewed individually. The menus are standard interactive still frames that are easy to navigate.
