I
never knew “Beverly Hills 90210” alumni Jennie Garth had a talent for comedy
and almost did not recognize her because I was so used to her subdued character
of “Kelly” on the above mentioned series. Well the premise is simple; big
sister (Garth) takes in her teenage sister so she does not have to move to Japan
with her father, whose promotion requires him to live abroad. Garth shows a lot
comic flair and a talent for physical humor and she is very much a beauty to
watch. I think Friday nights is tough timeslot for this series to reach its core
audience since teenager and young adults usually go out on Friday nights, but as
the series develops this might succeed from good word of mouth alone. “What I
Like About You” premieres on Friday, September 20, 2002 on The WB.
