Title: When Zombies Attack!! Issue #1 “Don’t Shoot The Messenger, Part One”

Creators/Writers: Chad Waters and Matt Rose

Cover Art: Mike Huddleston

The streets are alive with the walking dead, obsessive-compulsive vampires, and hungry werewolves. To counter these paranormal delinquents, the Post Mortem Animation Control (P.M.A.C) was created to protect the community from these supernatural terrors. This comic book details the brutal adventures of Officer Frank Hadley and rookie Officer Chet and invites the reader to take a seat and go along for the ride.

I do not usually write hardcopy media reviews of comics and such, but “When Zombies Attack!!” is not just a comic book. It is a multimedia extension that spans the acclaimed 25-minute film of the same name as well as it’s follow-up “Waker Safety” and also has garnered the attention and favorable praise of filmmakers Guillermo Del Toro and Frank Darabont. The film can currently be viewed online at www.ifilm.com while the follow-up can be viewed by visiting www.whenzombiesattack.com. The artwork is presented in stark black and white, which adds a sense of surrealism to it all as if one were looking at some sort of official documentation or approved recreation of a supernatural incident and there is a lot of humor to the adventure too. Issue one also features early conceptual cover art design by Jim Mahfood, as well as character sketches, information about the film, and notes on the talent behind bringing this book to fruition.
