This upcoming TNT and Johnson
& Johnson spotlight original film is a fantasy that has a boy (Mark Rendall)
being transported into the body of an adult (Shawn Hatosy) in the early 20th
century where he meets baseball legend Honus Wagner (Matthew Modine) through a
magical baseball card containing Honus’ image. In the process he gets involved
with various baseball team members as well as the scrutiny of another baseball
legend, a young Ty Cobb (William Lee Scott) and plays a role in the 1909 World
Series. The film costars Kristen Davis (Sex and the City).
As far as baseball fantasies go,
“The Winning Season” is a heartwarming tale that brings in the new Spring
season with a lot of fun for the whole family. This is the fourth co-production
between TNT and Johnson & Johnson and the quality of the program is on par
with their previous collaborations that include the multi-Emmy® nominated
“Door To Door” original film.
