Don Johnson stars and co-executive produced this TNT Original Motion Picture based on the best-selling novel by Nelson DeMille. 30 years ago, Ben Tyson (Don Johnson) participated in war crime resulting in the murder of several French doctors and patients in a Red Cross Hospital in Vietnam. Now one of the officers present during the massacre has come forward because he is dying of cancer and wants to clear his conscience. Soon Tyson is on trial with a zealous Army prosecutor (Jeanne Tripplehorn) searching for the truth while a clever defense attorney (Arliss Howard) attempts to put a spin on the story and defend his client solely on the basis of his own inner strength to defend his honor and his family suffers from the stress and stigma of actions that may or may not have occurred during the war.

Well cast and timely, “Word Of Honor” is an above average TV movie with good performances from all actors involved. However there have been many theatrical releases produced in the last ten plus years alone that cover similar ground so the overall impact is somewhat diluted. Overall this is very good TV movie, but it’s gripping nature truly depends on how much of this sort of film one can watch. “Word Of Honor” will debut on TNT on Saturday, December 6, 2003, at 8pm (ET/PT) with a special encore on Sunday, December 7, 2003, at 8pm (ET/PT).
